SEVEN STEPS TO ANSWERED PRAYER

We declare that even now the Word of God is working in and through you, bringing peace and healing in soul and body (Isaiah 53:5).  The grace of Jesus inwardly strengthens you today.  2 Timothy 2:1.

STEP 1  Be specific and Stand on God’s Word!  You have dealt with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your Word.  Psalm 119:65
This may be the most important step, and it requires preparation before you pray.  You have to know the promises of God, and then come to Him standing on His Word.

STEP 2  You Must Ask God for What You Want!  “  I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name He will give to you…. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”  John 16:23-24
God already knows what you need, but He wants you to ask Him and believe that He’ll do it!

STEP 3  Be Positive in Your Thinking!  Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life…” Luke 12:22
Let your thoughts affirm what you’ve been asking. Don’t let doubt or second thoughts creep in.

STEP 4  Guard Your Mind!  “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”  Isaiah 55:8-9 
You’ve got to guard your mind against the enemy. If you want God’s thoughts, you’ve got to know God’s Word.

STEP 5  Meditation is the Key to Successful Prayer!  This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night… for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.  Joshua 1:8
You’ve got to fill your mind with God’s Word, meditate on it, and let it roll around on the inside of you!

STEP 6  Continually Thank God for the Answer!  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God… Philippians 4:6

Thank Him for what He’s done that you can see, and thank Him for what He’s done that you can’t see.

STEP 7  Make every Prayer a Statement of Faith!  …let us plead and argue together.  Set forth your case, that you may be justified (proved right).  Isaiah 43:26AMPC  

You’ve got to come to God and make your case in faith based on the promises that He’s already made in His Word.
