As Christians, we should get caught up in giving. First and foremost, GIVE LOVE. There is no greater gift!
How do we know that love is so great? God set the example. John 3:16 For God so loved the words, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. God’s plan for us reflects His love. John 10:10 “...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” God’s love is never ending, no matter what the circumstances. We have done nothing to earn it, and we can do nothing to lose it. Do you love God? How can we be sure that our lives and actions show that love? God has given us a standard for love. We have all experienced ‘fake’ love, even bad and sometimes cruel things done in the name of ‘love.’ God’s Standard says, John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my commandments.” Jesus tells us, John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” Obedience to God’s commandments, which are clearly written in His Word, the Bible, is proof of our love for Him. John 4:8, 19 He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. We love him, because he first loved us.
