WEEK 4
5. The More You Sow, the More You Harvest
“A man’s harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows.” –Galatians 6:7 (PHILLIPS)
It’s counterintuitive, isn’t it? To just keep giving and giving, thinking you’ll end up with more and more?
Yet, it is spiritual law.
The Church has taught the Body of Christ to tithe, which is 10% of your income. And that’s an important principle.
Yet, Jesus said to give as you’ve been blessed: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38, ESV).
There’s an increase that comes when you give beyond the tithe—when you sow seed. In other words, the more you sow, the more you harvest. It works in the field, and it works in the spirit realm. And Luke 6:38 means your income is unlimited.
David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, is one of the wealthiest men in the world. Known for his extreme generosity, he says it has seemed that no matter how much he increased his giving, his income continued to increase.
On living a lifestyle of giving, he says: “My journey into generosity has shown me two important things, among others,” he said. “First, generosity has a starting point. You don’t just wake up one day and poof, you’re generous. It begins with a decision to steward your resources with a heavenly mindset. Second, generosity depends not on how much money we have but the posture of our hearts.”
Like Jerry Savelle, he has seen the power of sowing seed work in his life. The more they have sown, the more they have harvested. And the same is true for you. The more you sow, the greater your harvest will be. You just have to get into a giving mindset!

Needs are fulfilled by sowing seeds. No one can determine your outcome—or income—but you. If you’re withholding seed, you’re not going to experience what God has for you. But if you put your faith in God’s system of sowing and reaping, you’ll see results you never dreamed possible.
When you take the time to meditate on these 5 Reasons Why Your Seed Determines Your Income, you’ll never look at giving the same way again. Instead of feeling like you have to twist your own arm to sow a seed, you’ll be looking for places to sow and give, knowing that when you do so, you are increasing your income God’s way!
