AS LONG AS THE EARTH REMAINS (Part 1)
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. What will you reap? Whatever you sow. Whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Most of the time when you hear that, it is heard, quoted or received with a negative feeling. Someone might say, “Okay, you gone reap what you sow.” That should not be your response, if you have sown good seed, or done some good things. Has anybody in here sown some good seeds, done some good things? Then your response should be “Glory to God!” Verse 8, For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Verse 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Do not get tired of doing the right thing Due season is usually later than you want it to be. Your flesh does not want to wait, it doesn’t even want to hear soon. It likes to hear now! Just look at society. As technology has advanced, one of the main ways it is applied is in avoiding a wait. We have instant this and instant that, drive through and microwave everything. As technology advances that’s the first place it is applied – that is, cut down on our wait time. Some of that is okay, but one well known pastor used to say, it’s not good English but he would say, “God don’t have no instant pudding.” If God has pudding, it’s the real thing. Not dehydrated, just add water. Many people don’t know how to cook any more. They have become dependent on all the short cuts. In our drive-thru, microwave world people want to do that to the things of God and it just doesn’t work. They that wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength (Isaiah 30:41). They that wait on Him! So to reap the benefits of serving the Lord and to see the resulst, you’ve got to put your flesh under and quit being in such a rush. Quit being in such a haste, and you will reap in due season, if you faint not. Why do people faint? They get tired of waiting, tired of doing the right thing, tired of doing what the Lord told them to do. They want to know why hasn’t it happened yet…and they quit. It won’t happen if you quit! They get disillusioned, they get annoyed. You will reap, if you faint not. You will reap in due season.
