WEEK 1
How much money do you make in a year? Yes, it’s a personal question, but it’s only a blog! No one can hear you. You probably answered the amount your employer pays you, right? Most of us would. But here’s the real answer—the God answer. How much money you make in a year—That’s your salary. Your income is unlimited. Do tell, you may be thinking. Don’t mind if we do. At the 2021 Washington, D.C. Victory Campaign, Jerry Savelle ministered to us about how your seed determines your income. He shared how God never intended for your vocation to be what you do only to earn a living; He also intended it to help you earn a giving. That’s because we were created to be a sower. Your income is designed to be harvested from the seed you plant. Your company might determine your salary, but you’re the one who has the legal right to determine your income. And it’s all based on seed. Ready to learn more? Here are 5 Reasons Why Your Seed Determines Your Income. 1. Seed Was God’s Second Gift to Man “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth.” –Genesis 1:29 (KJV) Have you ever noticed it? There are two gifts God gave to man after Creation. We talk a lot (as we should) about God’s first gift to man—dominion and authority— which is found in Genesis 1:28, but we don’t always look beyond to the next verse where we find His second gift to man—seed. Like anything with God, this is not a coincidence. Gift No. 1 was dominion and authority. Gift No. 2 was seed. God’s intention was that man would have dominion and authority to determine his income by the seed he sows. He put that power in our hands! That means a man’s harvest in life depends entirely on the seed he sows—not the government, not the company he works for, not his ministry. We each determine our income by the seeds we sow. When we realize that seed is a gift God intends for us to use to prosper, it changes everything! That’s why the devil has kept believers trapped in the idea that the safest thing to do is hold tightly to everything they have for fear of not having enough. As long as they’re holding seed in their hand, it can’t reproduce. Everything that happens on earth—including the events in your life—revolves around seed. Let’s take another look at Genesis 1: 29 in the King James Version: “And God said, ‘Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.’” The word meat at the end of this verse is also translated as provision. God intended for seed to be for our provision. When we plant a natural seed, we receive a food-producing plant that provides for our physical needs. But it also works in every area of our lives. And that’s why your seed determines your income.
