And being not weak in faith, [Abraham] considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
In the years I've spent living by faith, there's something I've learned to do that helps me receive from God in the toughest of situations. It's something I call stepping over the faith line.
A faith line is what you need when you want God to do the "impossible" in your life. It's what you need when you want to be firm in your faith and yet you keep wavering back and forth between your circumstances and God's promises—believing first one, then the other.
It's what can make you like faithful Abraham. You know, Abraham had natural facts to deal with just like we do. He knew there was no natural way for God's promise to him to come true.
Yet the Word says Abraham considered not his own body. In other words, Abraham ignored the natural evidence around him and believed only God's promise.
Somewhere he stepped across the line of faith.
He made an irreversible decision to go with the Word of God. He made a final commitment. He chose to step past the point of no return. And if you and I are ever going to see God do the impossible in our lives, we're going to have to do the same thing!
How do you draw that faith line?
Begin with the Word. Search the promises of God and purposely believe what He has said, and is saying, about your need. Meditate on those promises until faith rises in your heart.
Then draw the line of faith. Draw it in your mind and heart. Draw it across the floor in your prayer room. Say, "In the presence of God, in the presence of all the angels in this room, and in the devils face, I am stepping across the line of faith. From this moment on, I consider this matter done. From this day forward, I give God the praise and the glory in the Name of Jesus."
From that moment on, speak only as if your miracle has already happened. Turn your back on the problems, on the doubts, and turn your face toward Jesus.
God will do the impossible in your life. Dare to step across the faith line!
Scripture Reading: Romans 4:13-21
FAITH-FILLED WORDS DOMINATE
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. 7 And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’? 8 But will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’? 9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. 10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’ ”
When we hold fast to our confession of faith in God’s WORD and say, “It’s mine, I have it now!” faith begins to grow, and satan’s dominion begins to wane. Trouble and circumstances begin to shrink in our eyes. What’s happening? Substance and faith-filled hope are happening. Faith-filled words dominate the laws of sin and death. So when we plant our faith and speak to the sycamore tree from a heart full of faith in God’s WORD, giving it the command to be plucked up by the roots, we fully expect our faith to do the work. We go to bed and get up, and go to bed and get up, praising God for the answer and knowing our servant – faith – is out there, uprooting that tree or removing that mountain:
Mark 4:26-29 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
Mark 11:23-24 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
In response to His disciples’ request to increase their faith, Jesus made it clear to His staff they didn’t need any more faith. He told them to sow – to plant or use – the faith they already had. Faith is the servant of the believer. It is the duty of the believers’ faith to do what we command it to do. Our faith has been given to us by God to use, in His Name, to meet our every need and to stand against all the fiery arrows and storms of the curse.
Jesus said the whole kingdom of God works like a seed (Mark 4:26). The believer must plant it and expect it to produce. When we sow it, or put it on the line, He WILL develop it. That’s what He does! When we act in faith on His WORD, the situation may look impossible.
That’s when we obey 2 Corinthians 4:18: “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Matthew 17:20 … If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
AMPC … Truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
In this Scripture the Lord tells us what to do to get the mountains moved out of our lives – Plant a Seed of faith.
Romans 12:3 says that God has given everyone THE measure of faith, and four times He says, the just shall live by faith. So, really, faith is the key to everything!
When you take the faith God has given to you and use it according to His Word, it becomes a mighty tool to move the mountain of need you face in your life. Your seed-sowing and your reaping put you in charge of the harvest God said you would receive. You take control rather than sitting down at the mercy of the devil.
Each act of faith is a seed planted, and it will be multiplied back to you many times, according to God’s Word!
Now FAITH IS IN ACTION.
Spiritually speaking, the key is always the Word of God. Where there is no Word there is not revelation of God. There is not revelation that God is love. Without the revelation that God is love there is no faith, because faith worketh by love. And Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
We are talking about the action of bringing a desired harvest out of the unseen realm of the spirit (where God has already provided it) into the practical, usable world of the material here and now, in my favor, instead of this world manifesting itself against me all the time.
FAITH IN ACTION Maybe before people know it’s in the Word, they hear about what a preacher, a person did and how they did it and they say he did it now I’m going to the Word and find out what he did and then I saw what he did. I see it in the Word, I heard it now I’m developing confidence and faith in the Word like you did. You told me about the Word. I saw and you told me how you operated. I got in the Word, I found it and I started mediating in the Word.
Somebody has to do that. That’s the job of the anointed (those called to do that.) In your set place and teaching by your Man of God.) That’s what they are called to do. To come tell you what they did, the results that it brought. To tell you the times they failed as well as the times that they succeeded at it.
But they don’t just tell you their failures either. They tell you that’s why that didn’t work. But when I changed that, this did work. That’s the way they got it.
When you see a faith failure you have a Word failure 100% of the time. If your Word level is low then your faith is going to be low. What does the Scripture say about love? Love never fails. God is love. He never fails. The Laws and Principles of love produce a FAILURE FREE LIFESTYLE.
You have to stay with it. You can’t just get in and out, in and out and get over into that lifestyle.
You have a lot of opportunities to fail. But over the years at it and watching the devil how he operates it’s really no excuse for us to (knowing how he operates and what he is trying to do to us.) No excuse for us to fall for it and start confessing what I see and what I feel, poor oh me, I’ll fail, I’ll fall flat on my face. Well, there is no excuse for that. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR VIOLATING THE COMMANDMENT OF LOVE.
There may be some reasons but you either FIX the reasons or you IGNORE them. Stay in the rules. I don’t care how bad the pain is. I don’t care how ugly people get. I don’t care what politicians are doing or saying. I don’t care what’s around you, just stay locked into the Word of God.
I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m moved only by what I believe and I believe God’s WORD IS TRUE and I refuse to say anything else with my mouth.
One hundred percent (100%) of the time you will come out on TOP of that mess and you’ll come to a higher level. So it then is our responsibility to make sure it’s preached. Because if it’s not preached faith can’t come. If faith can’t come then we can’t connect. If you analyze Romans 10 it starts off with getting born again. Then it progresses through that to becoming a preacher. Then it talks about faith coming by hearing, preaching under the anointing.
You can enter into the realm of “All Things are Possible” when you plant your seed of faith!
In Matthew 17:20 the Lord was referring to the need of the little boy He had just healed, as being like a mountain. A mountain can be any type of need. It can be anything bad in your life.
The mountain can represent any impossibility.
Jesus was saying that if we make our faith a seed, i.e.
-Something that we do,
-Something that we plant... beyond just planting…
-Something that we sow in faith, on purpose, aimed for a desired result it can grow and become a mighty force against our needs!
For example, some people believe that all you have to do is speak to the mountain and it will remove. But let’s look at Mark 11:22-26 regarding speaking to the mountain:
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says
24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.
First it says have faith in God, then it says speak to the mountain, tell it to leave, and it also says forgive.
It all begins with a seed. No harvest can begin without a seed being sown. Whether it is a seed of our faith, our attitude, our compassion, or our finances, we must start somewhere and give God something to work with.
Plant your seed first and then you have a right to speak to your mountain and tell it to leave.
What if it doesn’t leave at that precise moment?
Galatians 6:9 says,
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
The King James says, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Growing seed is not instantaneous. There is a process. But eventually (or in God’s due season) the Word of God can prevail.
Notice THE PROCESS of using your seed faith:
1. Plant your seed out of a believing heart.
2. Speak to your mountain of need and tell it to BE REMOVED. You “SAY THE WORD” for it to move.
3. You must fully believe (no doubt) for the mountain to obey your word of faith, and according to God’s Word, it is required to obey!
What are the results? When you DO EXACTLY what God’s Word says and believe in faith, Jesus concludes,
NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE UNTO YOU!
When you plant your seeds of faith, then you can enter into the realm of “All things are possible!”
Matthew 8:5-8, 10
Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant
5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,
6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”
7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed…
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
THE WORDS WE SPEAK
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.
You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the super-abundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.
NO FAITH Mark 4:35-40
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
LITTLE FAITH Matthew 14:22-31
Jesus Walks on the Sea
22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
His faith had increased and he acted
30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
In life, the number one (#1) need that every person has is a need for the forgiveness of sin.
For all of us have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23) But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) Jesus has a certain way of doing things. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
The most important decision that you will ever make in your life is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
Wherefore, as by one man (i.e. Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, pray this prayer in faith and mean it in your heart.
PRAYER OF SALVATION Pray out loud in faith.
Dear God in Heaven, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I would be saved. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and I confess Him now as my Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
If you prayed that prayer, YOU ARE SAVED! YOU ARE BORN AGAIN! WELCOME TO THE BODY OF CHRIST!! Now you can rejoice in your wonderful new relationship with God – all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends with God. (Romans 5:11NLT)
Tell at least five (5) people you are saved.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
Being Born Again is wonderful, but it is just the beginning. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We need Him to live inside us and be our Teacher, to guide us into all truth, to empower us and strengthen us to do all Jesus has called us to do.
(Luke 11:9-13) And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4)
If you want to receive this gift and power from on high, pray this prayer in faith.
PRAYER TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Father, I believe with all my heart, based on the Scriptures, that the gift of the Holy Spirit is meant for me. Just as I trust you for my eternal salvation by faith, so now I do trust you, by faith, to give me the fullness of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. I receive, by faith. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; Ephesians 2:8
LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:38
WALK BY FAITH
For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance. 2 Corinthians 5:7
GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH
Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. Hebrews 11:6
NO FAITH NO GRACE
Therefore, [inheriting] the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favor), to make it stable and valid and guaranteed to all his descendants—not only to the devotees and adherents of the Law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is [thus] the father of us all. Romans 4:16
GRACE: FAITH WORKS BY LOVE
For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. Galatians 5:6
